Florida Utility Deploys RADWIN Radio Systems (7/25/12)
Central Florida Electric Cooperative (CFEC) deployed RADWIN point-to-multipoint and point-to-point solutions. The Central Florida Electric Cooperative chose RADWIN's systems to upgrade its communications network and link substations to district offices with high-capacity connectivity.
The systems are also used for supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) and to transmit live video from CFEC's substations to central headquarters for monitoring and control of critical assets.
"After a thorough competitive evaluation, we chose RADWIN's solutions,” said George H. Buckner III, information systems manager at CFEC. “Thanks to RADWIN we can run multiple bandwidth-heavy applications on the network and monitor substations from afar via 24x7 real-time video surveillance transmission.”
